Ship Creek Fisheries

The Ship Creek Fisheries Center will be a new fish hatchery and visitor center for the Alaska Fish and Game Department that will be replacing the existing Elmendorf Fish Hatchery.

The purpose of the Ship Creek Fisheries Center is to inform and educate the public about recreational fisheries and aquatic resources, management and the role they have in conservation. Visitors will be presented with the importance of their involvement in fisheries management and sustainable fisheries. They will be challenged to become informed participants in management of Alaska’s fisheries and aquatic resources.

Exhibits at the Center will move beyond static panel displays to include hands-on activities, a living stream and a fully functional fish hatchery.
